With the advent of Social Networking and Social Media Software, libraries are stepping into a new realm.  Many libraries have Twitter accounts to allow them to answer reference questions immediately, no matter where the patron is.  Some libraries have a presence on Facebook.  Meebo is used at SCSU in the library to communicate with the Distance Education librarian and others.
